Jesus commands his followers, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:19). ‘All nations’ includes your neighbors, the most exotic location you can think of, and everywhere between. What opportunities has God given you to make disciples? Read below for opportunities in PNG, and see https://silpng.org/departments for examples of the range of ways you could contribute.
PNG is a fantastic country with a vertiginous languagescape. As language researchers (2010-2024), we’ve gotten to see a fair bit of it! Below are the languages researched by the survey team since 2010-2020. PNG has 840 languages, more than any other country; each of the polygons below represents a separate language! See a map of translation projects at https://silpng.org/resources.

Interested in Scriptures in some of PNG’s languages? Check out https://png.bible/. Here are a few examples of Jn 1:1:
- Anem, where we had our village training in 2010: “Tulaŋ nami iŋgi iŋgi kalil brantosaisonabqa…”
- We researched Scripture use in Alamblak in 2015: “Mrokfor bingot bi rhu gungonmor…”
- In most PNG languages, Jn 1:1 looks like this: “no Scripture” – They have no Scripture in the language they know best and love most.
Our organization produces many other publications in or about PNG languages.
